Show me the money

Why can’t I just have my money?

That is all I wanted after taking advantage of an ink recycling program where you receive $2.50 for every ink cartridge you turn in. Ink is expensive as hell any way and I thought I would save $10 on the over priced ink I purchased after turning in four ink cartridges.

Nope. It does not work that way.

I had to join a rewards program, give them all of my personal information including where I will be on June 21 at 5 p.m and what color underwear I would be wearing. And then I don’t get my money until after the end of the month. And one more thing. I don’t actually get my money. I get a credit toward future purchases.

Why can’t I just have my money?

I once purchased furniture and was told I’d get $100 back. So I bought it and I did not get my money back. I had to file enough legal documents to fill the White House and submit it. I am not good at submitting things. I usually forget, which is the point of these reward program scams. But this time I said “damn it. I am filling this out.”

About three months later I got a debit card. Every time I used it it cost me $2.50.

And finally I bought some damn lotion. They said I would receive $15 back if I bought $50 in merchandise. Sounds like a good deal to me. But I did not get my $15 back. I got some lotion bucks or something where I could save $15 if I came back between 4:30 pm and $4.44 p.m. on September 5, 2045.
