A simple yet complicated baseball question

I have a great question and I want you to think about it before answering.

Who is the better baseball team? The Detroit Tigers? Or the Kansas City Royals?

The Royals begin World Series play Tuesday at home against the San Francisco Giants so the quick answer might be to select the Royals. But are the Royals the better team or the hottest team?

The Tigers beat the Royals 13 of 19 games head to head, finished ahead of the Royals in the division but were swept by the Baltimore Orioles in the playoffs. The Orioles turned around and were swept out of the playoffs by the Royals.

Kansas City is unbeaten in the playoffs. The Royals became a home run hitting machine after not hitting home runs during the regular season. Two of their game RBIs came without the aid of a hit.

The Tigers have more star power. The Royals are more athletic.

The Tigers have better starting pitching, the Royals better defense and bullpen.

So what is your answer?

with all due respect, it’s actually not a great question. The Royals are still playing. That’s all that matters.

Sorry, didn’t mean to come off as a jerk. It actually is a good question. However the answer is sort of irrelevant.

i always thought the royals were better the only advantage we have is starting pitching there staters only have to go 5 innings if they have a lead after 6 its over don’t know how we won so many games against them

Royals are playing for the championship and Verlander is home polishing his putter. I’m voting Royals.
