Road outrage

At first I thought I was doing something wrong when the driver of a car pulled behind me, honked the horn and flashed his lights at me.

Maybe I was going to slow. But I looked at the speedometer and I was doing 45 in a 40. When traffic cleared on the other side of the two-lane road the man sped by me at around 60 miles and hour and rushed through a yellow light about to turn red.

And this was the kicker. The jerk gave me a dirty look. Now I was mad. It is not my fault that this fool was late for work or an appointment. How is that my bad?

I think driving five miles an hour over the speed limit is appropriate. I am not doing the blue hair thing or driving like grandpa. I did not deserve flashing lights and a honking horn like I was doing 25 miles per hour in a 50.

I thought about the incident for four days until I was on the same road at the same time doing the same speed. This time the car was in front of me. The man honked his horn, flashed his lights and then sped by the car in front of him much the same he did me.

I was in no position to see if he gave the other driver a dirty look. But does this jerk really want us to drive 55 or 60 miles an hour on near residential roads to appease him?

That is outlandish.
