Let me make a confession. I feel guilty this morning.
After my show Friday I got a text from my son Brandon. He wanted to know where we could have dinner. That is sort of our thing Friday night. We go out for pizza or burgers or even salad. The ladies stay home. It is usually men’s night.
But now it is fall and Friday night is no longer guaranteed. I forgot to tell him that I was assigned to write a column on the Detroit East English Village- Martin Luther King game on the east side.
There would be no dinner. There won’t be much of a weekend for him and me. I am covering the Michigan State-South Florida game today and then the Lions on Sunday. I am not able to go to the games and leave. I have to interview people and write a column.
Tonight I was supposed to watch the Michigan-Notre Dame game with the boys. However, I am going to cancel so I can enjoy dinner with my son and watch the game in the basement. It is a small sacrifice but one well worth it.
(Come to Foster’s Smokehouse today for the Michigan State-South Florida and Michigan-Notre Dame games. Ask for the Spartan Special which is a burger, fries and Miller Lite or the Wolverine Special which is a pulled pork sandwich with fries and a Lite for $5.95 each. Buckets of Miller Lite are $10.)
